A letter I found from my mother written October 12, 2004...all about my grandmother Margie Dawn Werry Butler...
"It's October 12! Today is Mom/Grama's 87th birthday!
In her little baby book (which measures 4"X6") in Grama Dot's handwriting it says:
"Oct.12-1916" and under the name it says "Dawn Werry". (Now isn't that interesting!)
The doctor was Auston Byrd, the nurse was Mrs. S. L Allred (Silas Lafayette) meaning Grama Dot's mom.
It lists the parents as: "Dot Allred Werry and E. Joe Werry ".
The first visitors were: "Aunt Tess, Aunt Coe, Aunt Maybel, and Mrs. H. C,. Stanfield."
Under Baby's Gifts it says: "Toilet Set from Aunt Lida, hose from Aunt Clara, comb and brush from Aunt Nell, Baby spoon from Lewis F. and Carr's Family's and Book from Mrs. R. Z. Merrill."
Baby's Weight is listed as " 5 3/4 lb.s at birth, 8 lbs at 1 month, 10 lbs. at 2 months and 11 1/4 lbs. at 3 months".
Baby's First Laugh is "at First mo."
Baby's First Outing was "three weeks old car ride with Aunt Coe, At one mo. came to Provo."
Under Baby's Height, nothing is written. Nor is anything written under "Baby's First Short Clothes", "Baby's first tooth", "Baby's first step", "Baby's first word", "Baby's first Birthday", "Baby's first playmates", or "Mother's Notes".
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM."
